Basic Linux consists of 10 independent modules. The first module places Linux in its historical context and considers its importance or otherwise in todays mileux. The currently available Linux distributions are considered and criteria for selection are introduced.
Students are taken throught the installation and set up process.
The course is for system managers, administrators and would be users who want to understand how to use Linux systems within the enterprise.
Students should be familiar with using PC's. Keyboard skills are essential for all practical sessions. Some knowledge of other operating systems is desireable but not essential.

Evenings : November Monday 13th / Tuesday 14th 6-9pm
Saturday : November 18th 10am - 5pm
£50 per person including a Linux distribution CD and course
training notes.
Refreshments (tea, coffee, and soft drinks) will be provided
for the evening and weekend courses. A light lunch will be provided
for Saturday students.
All prices are subject to 17.5% VAT.
